Rare Cancers Bill

It's very welcome news that the Rare Cancers Bill passed Committee Stage.

This will be a lifesaving bill which is set to increase research and investment into the treatment of rare cancers. Congratulations to Dr Scott Arthur MP for bringing this forward.

Thankfully EU implications won’t impact this Bill and it will apply across the whole of the United Kingdom.

The only Northern Ireland issue is access to the secondary data required, but I’m pleased that Health Minister Mike Nesbitt MLA has confirmed to me that he will bring forward a bill to rectify this.
