

Robin Swann MP secures seat on Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee
Ulster Unionist MP for South Antrim, Robin Swann, is set to join the Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee.

Mr Swann has secured one of the Government positions which highlights and shows the value of his cross-party work and the close working relationships he has built with MPs across the House of Commons. With this appointment, all Executive parties which take their seats at Westminster are now represented on this key committee.
The Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee scrutinises the work of the Northern Ireland Office and examines issues affecting Northern Ireland.
Commenting on his appointment, Robin Swann MP said:
"The Northern Ireland Affairs Select Committee provides dedicated time in the Westminster diary to focus squarely on the issues, challenges and opportunities facing Northern Ireland. I am delighted to have secured this position and look forward to contributing fully to its important work.
"I will be a pragmatic and constructive member of the Committee, working collaboratively across party lines to deliver practical outcomes for people in Northern Ireland. I am particularly pleased that positive, moderate unionism will now be represented on the Committee, ensuring a balanced and inclusive voice for all those who support Northern Ireland's place in the United Kingdom."
