Secure Visa Before Booking USA Trip - Swann

Robin Swann MP has warned South Antrim residents planning to travel to the USA:

"If you are planning to visit the United States for tourism or business, please ensure you confirm your eligibility for an ESTA or other required visas before booking your trip.

"A number of constituents who are facing significant delays or difficulty in securing the visa paperwork they need to enter the country have been in touch with my office . We’re doing what we can to support these constituents, but please do be aware that all decisions regarding visas fall under the remit of the US Department of Homeland Security and the State Department.

"The US Consulate has told us: 'we advise applicants not to make non-refundable travel arrangements until they have travel authorization in the form of an ESTA authorization or a valid visa.'

"Please do adhere to this advice to ensure you don’t end up out of pocket if there are delays or difficulties in securing your US visa/ESTA."
