Statement following the death of Anthony Miskimmon after weekend assault

A statement from South Antrim MP Robin Swann following the news that Antrim-man Anthony ‘Tony’ Miskimmon has died following a serious assault in Antrim town at the weekend:

“I’m very saddened to learn that Mr Miskimmon has passed away. This is incredibly upsetting news for Tony’s family and the wider community in South Antrim and I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends at this very difficult time.

“A police investigation is currently underway into the circumstances of Mr Miskimmon’s death, and I would urge anybody with any information which may be useful to assist the PSNI by calling 101 and citing reference number 1413 02/11/2024.

“Serious questions need to be asked about why such a violent alleged offender was able to be in a position to commit another such violent offence, and I hope the family receive the justice they deserve in the courts.”
