Statement on WASPI Compensation
I am disgusted and disappointed by today's announcement that there will be no compensation for the WASPI Women. This is a cause I have long been in supportive of and have spoken up for the WASPI Women in Westminster and had recently signed a joint letter to the government asking that they provide compensation to the impacted women before Christmas.
Today in the Commons Chamber I made it clear that the failure to deliver compensation to the WASPI Women is a failure of this government. It is a failure to listen to the women effected and a failure to listen to the Health and Parliamentary Services Ombudsman.
I will be attending the emergency meeting of the All Party Parliamentary Group on State Pension Inequality for Women tomorrow morning and will continue to advocate for this compensation.
