Swann Hosts South Antrim Sports Clubs

We have such a vibrant sporting culture and community here in South Antrim with thousands of sportspeople from over a hundred clubs covering dozens of different sports.

So it was fantastic to welcome representatives from many of those clubs to my Inaugural Sports Development meeting which was held at Crumlin United FC. The engagement from the clubs, their committees and members, both at the event and throughout the consultation period had been brilliant and really appreciated.

The engagement and information from Sport NI and National Lottery Fund provided an insight as to current and future funding opportunities, with a welcome level of individual engagement with the council representatives who were in attendance.

This is just the start of this process and I look forward to constructively working with clubs, councils and other bodies to ensure clubs have the support, facilities and funding they need to thrive and succeed to support their members and the wider community.
