Swann welcomes police action to tackle Crumlin dangerous driving
South Antrim MP Robin Swann has welcomed the proactive steps being taken by local police to address dangerous driving in Crumlin and Nutts Corner.
Concerns regarding reckless driving in the area was raised with Mr Swann raised by a local resident who attended his recent constituency surgery in Crumlin.
Mr Swann said:
“I want to thank the Antrim and Newtownabbey Neighbourhood Policing Teams for taking these concerns seriously and for the measures they are now putting in place including a targeted patrolling map covering known hotspots as well as increased coordination with other policing teams in Belfast and Lisburn. These actions show a real commitment to tackling the issue.”
Mr Swann also welcomed the progress made earlier this year when the Crumlin DEA Neighbourhood Police succeeded in shutting down a well-known illegal drifting site near Nutts Corner.
The MP added:
“The vast majority of those who drive on these roads are responsible, however, a small number continue to put others at risk. I will continue to work with local police, councillors and residents to bring this dangerous driving to an end.”
