South Antrim MP Robin Swann has welcomed confirmation from the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) regarding several key road resurfacing schemes across the constituency.
Following direct representations by Mr Swann, resurfacing on Ballycorr Road in Ballyclare is now underway. The Minister has also confirmed that Thorndale Road, Dundrod, has been added to the 2026/27 large-scale patching programme, while Hillhead Road, Ballyclare, is scheduled for delivery this year, subject to funding.
Mr Swann continues to press for action on other priority routes, including Lylehill Road (Templepatrick), Ballycraigy Road (Antrim), Bridge Road (Burnside), and Dundrod Road. Departmental officials are considering these routes for the 2026/27 programme of works, subject to budget confirmation.
Robin Swann MP said:
"I am pleased to see work starting on Ballycorr Road and progress on Thorndale and Hillhead Roads. However, many other local routes need urgent repair. I will continue pressing the Department to ensure roads like Lylehill, Ballycraigy, Bridge Road, and Dundrod Road receive the resurfacing they need as soon as budgets are finalised."
